UC Davis To Hold 3rd Annual “Tee Off for Teal” Golf Tournament
Sacramento, Calif., April 30, 2008- The UC Davis Cancer Center will host the Third Annual “Tee Off for Teal” golf tournament on June 2, 2008 at Northridge Country Club in Fair Oaks. All proceeds will go to the UC Davis Cancer Center specifically for ovarian cancer research in Sacramento.
Tournament participants will have a chance to win tee-prizes, a putting contest, and be treated to a BBQ lunch by local restaurant Back Forty. Following the golf tournament will be a dinner and award ceremony, as well as a raffle, and live and silent auction.
Tickets for the tournament can be purchased for $175 per person, which includes lunch, green fees, cart, dinner and awards. Those who wish to only attend the awards dinner and silent and live auction can purchase tickets for $50 per person.
Tee Off for Teal Chair, Pattie Laubhan, has been involved with the tournament for the past three years as an ovarian cancer survivor and patient of the UC Davis Cancer Center.
“Having a method for early detection would make such a difference for women and their families,” said Pattie. “It is essential that we come together and help support the fight against ovarian cancer.”

About Ovarian Cancer
Ovarian cancer claims the life of 16,000 women each year and is the deadliest of all gynecologic cancers. All women are at risk possibly experiencing symptoms that often go unnoticed or misdiagnosed. Currently, there is no proven test for early detection and without early detection chances of survival are only 30 percent. Researchers at the UC Davis Cancer Center are working hard to not only find a cure, but also develop a successful test for early detection.
