On Saturday, October 11, Old Town and Downtown Auburn, working with the Placer County Wine and Grape Association, will present the Auburn Wine and Food Festival. Twenty-five venues will feature twenty-five wineries from Placer and Nevada Counties specially paired with culinary offerings from local restaurants and catering companies along a one-mile span between the two business districts. Check-in begins at 11 a.m., the tasting will be held from 1 - 5 p.m., and wine sales will continue in the beautifully restored school park preserve through 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 before October 1 and $45 thereafter, and include tasting, raffle entry and a commemorative wine glass. For those who wish to enjoy the event but not sample the wines, tickets are only $20 per person. Each participant will be given a map of all participating venues, restaurants, and wineries.
